All In | George Anderton Works from North A St | TEMPUS PROJECTS | Kress Building Ybor City | AugSept ‘25
George Anderton trained in London and Budapest, and has cultivated a rich and enduring studio practice in Tampa for more than 30 years. To create an authentic environment for the exhibit, co-organizer Jose Gelats and I brought in objects from George’s North A Street home/studio to complement the artwork and to provide context. Antique chairs, lamp shades, a deer head - even the breeze blocks were borrowed. A weathered wood table from Budapest and an Anderton-made table were All In, a smattering of treasures from North A St. click HERE
Kirk Palmer | Debris Sketches | Arthouse Upstairs | Old Northeast carriage house | Jun 23 - Jul 15 ‘25 | Kirk's elegant, intimate paintings of piles - flood damaged goods lingering on driveways - was a way to process the visible remains of back-to-back, home-wrecking hurricanes. Robert Calvo's wall sculpture brings the piles under one roof. The whole installation (shown below) sold to a buyer whose home was greatly affected by the storms, who said the pieces especially resonated with her family.
